We had a great time this past weekend with our 4th Annual Spring Cruise In/Craft Fair! Starting the weekend off right we had Matchbox/Hot Wheels BINGO Friday night. Everyone had a blast playing for cars and the coverall went to a girl who received a whole bucket full of Hot Wheels!
On Saturday morning our crafters got set up and ready to sell their handmade goods. There were all kinds of different items to choose from; we had crochet items, handmade jewelry, horseshoe art, decorative household items and more! Everything was so nice it was hard to not leave there without finding a new item to take home.
Kids Craft Hour was unique this weekend because we did a craft just for Mother’s Day. The kids gathered around the tent area and got crafty decorating flower pots and making flower pens for their mom. This was such a special craft because the kids put so much thought into what they wanted their presents to look like – right down to moms’ favorite colors. When they were finished they were so excited to give them away.
The Cruise In registration started around 3pm, and boy did we have the hot rods rolling in! Every vehicle that registered was entered into a drawing to win different door prizes and the first 100 vehicles registered received a dash plaque!
We also had DJ’s Mark and Patty rocking the house with all your favorite tunes during the Cruise In. With over 100 cars, trucks and motorcycles registered for the Car Show there was a vast variety of vehicles to gawk over. It was so fascinating to see all the different types of decked out automobiles that came out for the day.
50/50 Raffle Tickets were on sale during the Cruise In to help raise money for our kids’ fund, and thanks to everybody there we sold a bunch of tickets! The pot at the end would make anyone happy with our lucky winner taking home a whopping $485.00! Woohoo!!
We ended Saturday with a great performance by the band Kowboy Jax, playing classic rock hits. Everybody hit the dance floor and danced the night away!
There was a delightful Sunday Morning Service held at the Chapel for Mother’s Day. Theresa Moore gave a wonderful message on how “Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates”. We also had Ronda Clark perform the song “Mother’s Love” with Lester Mason playing the guitar, they did such a good job!
All-in-all we had a great weekend here at the Acres. Thank you to everyone who came and participated this past weekend, we look forward to doing it again this fall!!
