We dared to Do The Dip!
On February 17th Shenandoah Acres Family Campground hosted the 4th Annual VAIL Arctic Dip, and boy did we have a blast doing it!
VAIL is a private non-profit agency that serves people with disabilities in the Shenandoah Valley. Their sole mission is to promote self-direction and remove barriers to independence, doing so by providing many tools to better living. Such as:
- advocacy information & referral
- independent living skills training
- benefits planning
- technical assistance
- transition planning for youth & adults
- peer mentoring
Having such a good organization to help raise money for, it wasn’t very hard to get some of our staff together to make a team of dippers. Our SAFC Dippers team consisted of: Garland Eutsler, Carolynn Rubino, Chris Eutsler, Skylar Puckett, Patricia Obrecht, Tonia Carpenter, Ronda Clark, Mike Garber, Chris Kempton, Josh Sherman, and Terry Turner.
The SAFC Dippers had a blast doing the dip and shared many laughs, as well as some encouragement, getting in that nice cold lake! Some of our dippers even cheered the others on when they ran in the water – only to get chased in next!
The Acres Eatery set up a special menu just for the Arctic Dip and man was the food delicious! With 100% Beef Hamburgers, Pork BBQ Sandwiches, Crispy Chicken Fillets, Boardwalk Fries and more, there was something to satisfy anybody. We even had pineapple upside down cake and rich frosted chocolate brownies for the sweet tooth’s out there!
The SAFC Dippers were able to raise over $1,500 for this wonderful organization and we can’t thank everybody enough for all of your generosity.
To everybody that donated, came or participated in this amazing fundraiser, we thank you! Without you guys we wouldn’t have been able to have such a successful turnout.
Would you dare to Do The Dip?
